Rosemarie Fortney

Artist – Milwaukee, WI

Rose has been experiencing symptoms of retinitis pigmentosa since the late ‘70s and now has a visual field of about 10 degrees, depending upon the time of day, location and available light.

“My tunnel vision becomes undefined gray, then blackness in peripheral. I CRAVE brightness and color in my life to best define whatever I can see in my reduced field of vision. I have been involved in the Fine Arts my entire life, painting and singing in my youth which continues to be the passion of my personal pursuit of fulfillment. It’s all ‘in the details’ for me…all that comprises anything and everything in a composition.”

She is a team member now, with her guide dog, Clyde, “who leads me to wherever and whatever I can design.”

Rose’s artworks have been juried to exhibit in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and throughout the Midwest.
