7th Annual Badger Braille Games

Braille literacy is one of the highest predictors of success in later life for blind students. It's estimated that about 85% of employed people who are blind or visually impaired are braille readers.

Braille Games will be held March 7, 2008, at the Badger Association. The Badger Braille Games strengthens children's skills through creative, recreational competition. Conducted by the Badger Association and Volunteer Services for the Visually Handicapped, in partnership with the Milwaukee and suburban school districts, this intergenerational competition provides an opportunity for children to socialize with others who also have visual impairments from the surrounding area, as well as adults who are blind or visually impaired. It is a chance to work on braille skill development, and to also celebrate braille and all that it offers in terms of access to information, privacy, and independence.

To register your child or student who is blind or visually impaired for this great event, please fill out the registration form.
