Community Open House and Low Vision Technology Day

On Saturday, July 26th, 2008 the Badger Association opened its doors to the community and hosted a Low Vision Technology Day.

Approximately 75 guests had the opportunity to learn about the Badger’s programs and resources for people living with vision impairment, observed technology demonstrations, and enjoyed a hands-on experience with these devices. Badger Association staff was available to answer questions about what services are Available to some one with vision loss. The latest in video magnification technology and screen magnification for computers was also explored.

One featured product was the JORDY by Enhanced Vision Systems. This device can be used like a traditional video magnifier to assist with reading and other tasks. It can also be worn on the head to assist with intermediate and distance tasks like watching television, a play or a sporting event. The Badger Association recently became a “JORDY Center of Excellence.”
